Catch Up
Well I am trying to get caught up. My last post was in January. Where has the time gone. I can not believe that it is November. So crazy. Anyway I am pretty much caught up with these posts. They go all the way back to January. I still have Halloween and our big trip on the Disney Cruise to add but I have to figure out my new camera. So we will start with these posts for now.
Boston and Preston turn 7
My best buddies turned 7 on October 6th. We had a fun family birthday party and were so glad that Grandma and Grandpa Pace, Taylor, Maria and Braxtyn, Kara, Tanna, Isaac and Sam could come and help us celebrate. It was a Teenage Mutant Ninja party. We started out with a little bowling.
Then back to the house for cake and opening presents.
Thanks to everybody who helped make it a great day and for all the nice presents. Boston and Preston had such a fun day. We love Boston and Preston so much and are so thankful to have them in our lives. They try so hard to be good boys and usual do a pretty good job at it. We love you both so much. Happy Birthday!!
Fall Soccer
We played a little fall soccer this year. We didn't have the greatest team but Boston and Preston sure played hard. They are starting to learn a little about team work and are getting better at passing and assisting one another with getting goals.
Teagen got baptized
We were so happy that we got to go up to Boise to see Teagen be baptized. We are so proud of him and we love him so much.
1st day of 1st Grade
Like I said it is crazy how fast time is going. My big guys started first grade. They have Mrs. Williams and Senora Cha. They are doing a dual immersion class where they do half the day learning in English and half the day learning in Spanish. They were not too thrilled about learning in Spanish but now that they have been at it for awhile they are loving it. It is amazing how well they can speak in Spanish and their little accent that they have with the words. Here are my handsome boys on the first day. (ignore the somewhat blurry pictures, something happened to our camera)
Boston Looses his first Tooth
Back at the end of July 2013 Boston lost his first tooth. He was pretty excited. We did not have any trauma trying to get it out. One night while I was brushing his teeth it just brushed right out. Luckily I saw it and we were able to get it out of his mouth before he swallowed. He has lost two more teeth since then. Preston is pretty sad that he has not lost any yet. But he will before we know it. So crazy how fast these guys are growing up. They should not be old enough to be loosing teeth already.
Hogel Zoo
This summer we went to the Hogel Zoo with out Pace side of the family. It was way too hot but we had a good time. They had a Lego exhibit going on at the time and had animals made out of thousands of Legos. It was pretty amazing.
We also stayed at a hotel and enjoyed the swimming pool there and then the next day we went to Seven Peaks in Provo. Somehow I didn't get any pictures of those days. But like always it is so fun to spend time with family.
Bathtub time
One night when we were at Grandma and Grandpa Knudsen's the boys wanted to try out the jetted tub. We accidentally put too many bubbles in it and this is what we got. They sure had fun.
4th of July
This year we got to head to Delta for the 4th of July. We had a lot of fun at the parade and got tons of candy.
Later that day we all floated down the river and had a yummy dinner with our family. It was so much fun.
New Puppy
It all started one day as we headed to Winco to do some grocery shopping. There is a PetSmart right next door and on this particular Saturday they had a pet rescue agency out front trying to adopt out dogs. Now usually they have the full grown dogs and it is fun just to go look at them. But this day they had a little puppy that we could not pass up. Boston and Preston had been begging to a puppy for like forever. This day daddy finally got in and we all got what we had been waiting for. At the time her name was Truffles but it just didn't feel right so we decided on the name Daisy, which happened to also be her sister name that was there that day and went to another family. She is so cute and so much fun to have around.
Here she is when we first brought her home.
She has gotten a bit bigger but we sure still love her and love having her around. I will post another picture when I find a good one of what she looks like now.
Kindergarten graduation
May 2013 Boston and Preston graduated from Kindergarten. It was such a great year and they loved having Mrs. Jensen as their teacher. They learned so much. They went from not being able to read at all to Boston being higher than his grade level by like two grades and Preston being right at the top of his grade level where he needed to be. They both excelled in Math and learned so many great things.
Here is the class before the program began.
Boston getting his "Diploma"
Preston getting his "Diploma"
Here they are with their teacher Mrs. Jensen
And here they are with their Diplomas.
Now on to 1st grade!!
Chloe came to visit
Back in May we got to dog sit Chloe while my parents went to Connecticut to visit Marcus and Maria. Boston and Preston were so excited to watch her and took the task very seriously. They had so much fun having her ride to school with them and then having her waiting when we came home. They would fight over who got to open the door to see her first. They did such a great job it may have lead to a dog of their own later in the summer.
Student of the Month
May 2013 Preston was picked as the student of the month for the theme of Integrity. We were so proud of him. Here he is with his picture on the wall.
Daddy's Little Helpers
Gary had to fix a sprinkler out in the yard and the boys wanted to watch him work. They were quite fascinated by it.
Spring Break 2013
So our Spring Break fell the week after Easter. So we decided to pack up and head down to Grandma and Grandpa Pace's for the long weekend. The first day we were there my mom asked the boys if they wanted to go for a hike. At first they did not really want to. We have not really been hiking with them. But after the first hike they were hooked and we ended up going for a hike everyday that we were there. Here are some pictures from some of them. These were hikes that we took up the Leamington Pass.
Then we went out to a place called Paul Bunyan's Wood Pile. It is a natural volcanic rock formation that looks like a giant wood pile. The boys thought it was pretty cool. That last half of the hike up to the rocks was a little more difficult but they did it all the way to the top. Grandma "Mac" who was 89 at the time even hiked the trail for the first mile to the bottom of the formation.
