Fall Leaves

This is a little late. About a month or so ago we spent a Saturday raking leaves out in the yard. The boys had so much fun. They have really been enjoying the changing of the seasons. One day when we were driving over to Logan I looked back at Preston and he was just staring wide eyed out the window. I asked him what he was looking at and he said that he was just looking at all the pretty leaves. It was so cute to see his fascination with it. He also did the same thing when we drove over one day and the ground was covered in snow.
But here are some picture of Boston and Preston enjoying the piles of leaves.

Crazy Boy

So I just had to share this picture of Boston that I found on my camera the other day. I am not sure if Boston took it of himself or if Preston took it. It was just in a bunch of pictures that they had taken of each other without me knowing they even had the camera.
I just thought this picture was so funny. Most of the time we get a sweet Boston but every now and then this side comes out in him and he is a little crazy. But man do I love him.

Happy Halloween!!

We had a really fun Halloween this year. The boys were really into it this year and were so excited to get everything set up. We had to put the Halloween decorations up before September even got over because they would not leave me alone about it. And now they are so sad that the decorations are gone. Preston keeps asking when we are going to put up the Christmas tree and decorations. So who knows we may be one of those families that have Christmas up long before Thanksgiving is even over. I am hoping to hold out as long as possible though.
We started off our Halloween weekend by going Trick-or-Treating at Gary's office. They got so much candy there we really could have been set with just that. Then that night we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Knudsen's. Where of course they were spoiled with candy, pumpkin cookies and pumpkin bread. While we were there we carved some pumpkins. This was the first time we did this with the boys and they really enjoyed it. Two of the pumpkins came from our own garden which was another first for us. However I should note that it was actually Gary and I that did the carving. Boston and Preston picked out what they wanted but then when we started cleaning out the insides they would not even try to touch it. They still were so excited with the results. It has been a long time since I have carved a pumpkin and it was kind of fun seeing the results.
These are the pumpkins that we grew.

Here we are together starting the carving. I look so ugly in this picture but I had to post it because everyone else looked good and it was the only one we got.

This pumpkin I did. I was pretty proud with how it turned out. I think it is the best pumpkin I have ever carved. This was also Boston's pumpkin from the garden and his choice of what face he wanted.

Gary did this ghost one. It was Preston's pumpkin and his choice of what he wanted carved on it.

Then Gary did this Woody one. He wanted to do a Woody and Buzz Lightyear for B & P since that is what there costumes were but they ended up not wanting to do that and picked the others. So Gary bought another pumpkin and did Woody. We were going to do Buzz too but just did not end up having enough time. I thought this was pretty good.

The next day we headed down to Grandma and Grandpa Pace's for their Halloween Party. Again Boston and Preston were so excited for this. About two weeks before Halloween I got tired of them asking if today was Halloween so we started marking off the days on a calendar so they could count. They were so excited when the last day was checked off. Grandma had a fun treasure hunt for them and a pumpkin pinata. Then we went trick-or-treating around Leamington. Between the candy they got from Gary's office, the pinata, the treasure hunt, Grandma Knudsen and trick-or-treating we are over flowing with candy. I have a feeling we won't be able to finish it all.
Everyone was at my mom and dad's except Kara and her family. They had come down but then Tanna got the stomach flu so they left before everyone got there. We sure missed you guys but do appreciate you for not getting the rest of us sick.
Here are a few pictures from the night.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOSTON AND PRESTON!!!

Yesterday was Boston and Preston's 4th Birthday. I can not believe they are 4 years old. Seriously where has the time gone? I think they had a pretty good day. They started out the morning going to the dentist for the 1st time ever. Aren't I such an awesome mom to plan that on their b-day. I didn't get any pictures but they did so good. I thought they might have a hard time but neither one of them cried and they both hopped in the chair and had their turn getting their teeth cleaned. Then we went and got birthday balloons. They each got to choose the one they wanted. Here they are with their balloons. We then came home and made cupcakes. This year their theme for their b-day is Toy Story. So we used cupcake wrappers with Woody and Buzz and then put star tooth picks in the top with Woody and Buzz as well. They were so excited for the cupcakes and really enjoyed eating them. Here they are in their birhtday hats. Here are the cupcakes. Which I have to say I think look alright. I have difficuty with making cakes and even cupcakes but I think these looked pretty good. They are decorated with red and blue frosting which are Preston (blue) and Boston's (red) favorite colors right now. And here they are pretending to take big bites out of the cupcakes. And here they are after they had enjoyed most of their cupcakes. After we enjoyed the cupcakes Gary and I took them to Fat Cats for some bowling and arcade games. They had a lot of fun. Preston beat everyone. Boston kept saying all afternoon "That was a good game of bowling." We took a drive up Ogden canyon to enjoy the pretty fall leaves but Boston and Preston fell asleep. So Gary and I just enjoyed the beautiful drive. Then when we got home they opened some presents from Gary and I. Here is Boston with the dollar he got from Grandma and Grandpa Knudsen in the mail. He was pretty excited about it and has already spent it on a "Line Chocolate" (that is what they call Kit Kat's) and a little bag of Funyuns (our new favorite chips). Here they are with their new bat and their new and 1st baseball mits. Opening a present. It was a baseball tee, a net to throw the ball against and the bases. Can you tell we are trying to create some little baseball stars! Opening another present. LEGOS. Here is Preston showing off his LEGOS. And Boston thinking he is pretty strong by holding his on his head. They have been loving to build with the LEGOS. But I think Gary is enjoying it even more. Now I know why he wanted to get them for the boys for their b-day. They had a really fun day but sadly this is how our day ended. Just had to share this picture, because it actully quite funny as to why he is crying. Here the story: When the day was winding down and we were about to get them ready for bed, Preston sat down on my lap and asked if he was 4. I said yes and then out of nowhere he started crying saying he wanted to go back to 3. He didn't want to be 4. I seriously don't know where it came from because all day he had proudly been telling people it was his birthday and that he was 4. Isn't it a little young to be worried about getting older. Here is the picture and then a little video of him crying about it.

Boston was cute too. He kept asking if he was 4 today. I would tell him yes and then he would say he wasn't getting bigger. I kept trying to explain you just grow a little everyday but he wanted to know why he wasn't bigger that day. So I had one crying to go back to being 3 and the other wanted to know why he wasn't any bigger.

Well I think they had a pretty good day and we are going to continue the celebrating by having a Birthday Party on Saturday with most of our family. They can't wait and keep asking when everyone is coming.
We sure love you Boston and Preston. We are so blessed to have you both in our lives. You are both so unique and bring something different and special to our family. Daddy and Mommy love you so much. Happy Birthday!!

First Day of Preschool

Yesterday Boston and Preston had their first day of preschool. I can not believe how big they are getting. We have been talking about preschool with them since June when I signed them up. Every time I would ask them if they were excited to go they would say yes but would ask if I would come with them. When I would tell them I wouldn't be coming then they would say they didn't want to go. Well we just kept talking about it and the more we did the more excited they got for it. Yesterday as they were getting ready they were both so excited and happy to go. Well we got their and Preston did so good. He walked right in and hung up his back pack and acted like he had been doing this for a long time. The boys have been watching a lot of Calliou lately and their was one where his preschool went for a field trip to pick apples. So Preston went right up to his teacher and asked "Are we going for a nature walk to pick apples." I think she was a little confused by what he wanted but said not today. Boston however shied up as soon as we walked in. He hid behind my legs and was hanging on for dear life. The teacher tried to take him and he started to cry but I just walked out knowing he would be fine. When I came back to get them two hours later and they were both nothing but smiles. They had so much fun and can not wait to go back. I was so proud of them for staying. I knew they would enjoy it but sometimes they take a little time to warm up. I was so surprised by how well Preston did when he just walked in. I was also so surprised with myself, no crying. It was close when I had to walk away listening to Boston cry, but I didn't do it. Gary asked me what I did with my free time. I said I watched a little TV, washed some dishes and did some laundry, my usual morning routine. But it was so nice to be able to do a few things without be interrupted. Usually I have two boys asking me for drinks and snacks (like 10,000 times in an hour), needing help with something, having to break up fights. It was a little weird though to have the peace and quiet. But something I will definitely enjoy. Here are some pictures of my handsome boys all ready for school. Don't they look so grown up all of a sudden?

Here is Boston at school.

Here is Preston at school. I don't know what it up with the creepy smile but it was the only picture I got of him alone.

County Fair and Rodeo

Last week we took the kids to the county fair and to the rodeo. Boston and Preston found a local Utah channel that played parts of the rodeo. They ask to watch it just about everyday. So when we found out the county fair was coming we decided we could not miss the chance to take them to their first rodeo as well.
First we started out with the rides. Preston would only go on the circus train and the merry go round. Boston decided he wanted to ride a real roller coaster so we went on a little dragon one that goes around. We did not really get any of the roller coaster Boston went on because I was dumb and sat on the outside. So you couldn't even see Boston where Gary was standing to take a picture. The whole time he was on it he looked really scarred. But when we got off he was saying "woo hoo" with his hands in the air and saying it was really fun. I think he was pretty proud of himself for going on it. Later when we were driving home he said "Mom that dragon ride was scarry but it was fun too." I was so proud of him for trying it.
Here are some picture of the rides we went on.

After the rides we headed to the rodeo. The boys really enjoyed watching it and sat there the whole time.
