Let it Snow! .....

Let it Snow!... Let it Snow!....This morning when we woke up it was looking a little ominous outside. I thought it was just going to start raining but at about 7:30 I looked out the window and saw snow. So far this is what it looks like and it hasn't stopped yet.

Crazy that it is snowing here in Las Vegas. This however is not the first time we have seen snow here. We have lived here for about 7 years and I think we have had one day with a little snow every year. But never like this during the daytime. In years past we have only woke up to snow that fell during the night and then by the time the sun came out it always turned to rain. Well this snow started after the sun came up so it will be interesting to see how long it lasts until it turns to rain. The boys have loved watching it out the window. Maybe later if I decide to brave the cold I will let them go out and play in it. We will see though I am usually not that nice when it comes to the cold and snow. That is one of the things I have loved about being out of Utah is not having to deal with the snow every winter. But I guess I can handle it for a day or so. The one nice thing about it though is it does make it feel a little more like Christmas. We will actually have to wear a coat. We have still been in short sleeves.

This is one last picture that Gary took this afternoon after it had snowed all day. Right now it has pretty much stopped but I think we are supposed to get somemore over the next few days.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I know I am a little late as usual with this post. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. We were able to go to Provo and spend the weekend with Gary's family. Everyone was there except Gary's sister and her family. We missed you guys so much, wish you could have been there. We spent the whole weekend just relaxing and hanging out with the family. I am so Thankful for such wonderful in-laws. They are all so kind to me and have welcomed me into their family like one of their own. I am so lucky to have them as family. I know so many people that don't have good in-laws so I feel so blessed. I am so thankful this year for so many things. I am Thankful for Boston and Preston. They can drive me insane but I love them so much and know how blessed we are to have them in our lives. I am so thankful for Gary. He is such a wonderful husband and father. He works so hard to give our family what we need and allows me to stay home to take care of our children. I am thankful for my family. I am so lucky to have been raised by great parents that raised me in the gospel and give me unconditional love and support. I am thankful for my sisters and brother and their families. I don't know where we would be without our wonderful families. I am so thankful for the gospel in my life. The teachings that we learn have helped me through so many things and I am so blessed to have those teachings in my life. I have so many more things that I could list but I don't want to go on and on.
Here are some pictures from our fun weekend.

Preston and Grandma

We went to the Salt Lake Temple to see all the Christmas lights at Temple Square. They were so pretty and the boys loved looking at all the lights. They also loved seeing the temple. They would look up at it and point and say temple.

This is a picture of the reflection pond. They had a manger scene in the middle and then on the sides up a little higher you can kind of see the sheperds and there were different animals there.

Gary's brother Steve in front of the temple.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I would also like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season. I am so excited. I just started pulling out my Christmas stuff today. I am so excited to get the house decorated. I just bought a Christmas Tree online yesterday so I am hoping that it gets here soon so we can get it up and decorated. Merry Christmas!!

Elf Yourself!

I decided to hijack Kelly's blog tonight and add a family tradition. I know it isn't Christmas yet, but I've seen plenty in all of the stores we shop at. You may need to stop or pause the music on the player at the bottom of the page before you start the video.... Which reminds me that you can all thank me for the music on this blog as Kelly would have you listening to "The Sound of Music" soundtrack. -I have a confession.. I like the goat song.
By the way, Kendra asked if she could join us so I didn't decline.
Anyway, enjoy!

What We've Been Up To.....

Well not a whole lot has been going on here. I haven't posted for awhile so I thought I would just do a quick post. I just wanted to right down a few of the things the boys have been doing lately. They have both really started talking. People that haven't seen them for a couple of weeks even notice the difference. They both are different in their speech though. Boston has a cute little voice and Preston is a little louder. Boston doesn't say word right away when we ask him to. He thinks about it for a day or longer and then it comes out really clearly. When my brother Marcus was coming down I worked on them saying his name and Boston would not say anything and then one day he just said it as clearly as me. Preston when you ask him to say something he doesn't even stop to think so most things come out nothing like what it is supposed to sound like. Preston loves to sing. Not real words to anything but you can definitely tell the difference between his singing and his talking. Boston and Preston both like to lead music. When we are at church as soon as the piano or organ starts playing that stop whatever they are doing and wave their hands around like they know what they are doing. Now that I am trying to think of things that they say I can't so I am going to have to try to write things down while they are awake. But Boston can say Preston's name. Every time I call for Preston I have a little echo of Boston repeating it. Also Boston has started calling Gary and I by our names. He will call and say Gary or Kelly. It is cute. He also says the word cute. One day I told him he looked so cute. So now when he gets his shirts on or his shoes on he looks at me and says Cute. Bostons loves animals. Every time we go anywhere and there is a dog he just laughs and laughs at it and wants to pet it. He also loves his trains and kicking balls. Preston has really learned alot of words too. He is a talker. He talks the most but alot of it is not understandable. He can't say his name or Bostons name but he calls Boston "brother". Preston is funny, he says the word -there- after about every sentence. He will go through everyone in a picture and say mommy there, daddy there, brother there. He has also started calling me monny. At first when he wanted me a would yell ma but then somehow it turned to monny. Preston also loves animals. Preston is a lover and a fighter. Boston for the most part unless he wants something from Preston leaves him alone. But Preston loves to wrestle Boston. He will knock him to the ground and then sit on him until I get him off. Boston hasn't quite learned how to fight back. But then Preston also like to give the loves. He always wants to give Boston hugs or hold his had and Boston will run away. Preston always gets his feelings hurt and runs around after him with his arms out until he gets the hug. They also both love to read books. We read every night before they go to bed. They have a stack of books in their bedroom and every now and then when it seems a little too quiet I will go looking for them and they will be in their bedroom together just looking at books and acting like they are reading them to each other. They love the moon. Every night they look out the window to try to see it and every night we have to say night night to the moon before they can go to be.
They are both just getting so big and so crazy. Some days I don't know how much more I can take. But they are also so fun to watch together. I can't believe how fast time flys so I am trying to learn to be a little more patient with them and just enjoy the time we have together.
Sorry this is kind of a long and boring post but this is my journal, like I know it is for most of you so it is my way of keeping track of what the boys are up to.
Here are a few pictures of the boys. Most of them are of Boston this time. Lately it seems like they have mostly had Preston. Every time I pull out the camera Boston runs over to me and wants to take the picture so he is hardly ever in them. But a couple days ago I was able to get a couple cute ones. So here they are.
Ok so this first picture is actually not so cute. But kind of (I guess) a funny story. The other day I was doing something in my bedroom and Boston was in the office playing with some walkie talkies. Then I notice it was really quiet so you know what that means TROUBLE. So I went looking for him and this is what I found. He had taken off his pants and diaper and pooped on the floor. Needless to say it was not that funny at the time but I couldn't help but laugh a little bit as you can see by the look on his face he knew he had done something wrong. I am starting to think we may be starting potty training soon but I am not looking forward to it so I will procrastinate as long as possible.

Happy Halloween!

I know this post is a little late, but better late than never I guess. This year we went to Utah for Halloween. We went up on Tuesday and got there in time for my parents ward party. They had different games like a fishing pond, a cake walk, bean bag toss and many more. Boston and Preston didn't really get the games but they enjoyed the treats that the received. That night was the only night I got pictures of them. It was such a crazy night on Halloween that I didn't really get any. When we got to my parents house and my neice Rylee saw that the boys were monkey's she wanted to be one too. She had a monkey costume from last year. So we had 3 cute little monkeys. On Halloween we went down to a care center in Delta. That had some of the residents there dressed up and had a few games and treats for the kids. Then we went trick-or-treating to a few houses in my parent neighborhood. We only made it to about 6 houses but they still got a pretty good stash of candy. Preston loved it. He would always be the first one to the door and he would say Trick or treat and walk right into the peoples homes and then take as many peices of candy as he could get away with. Boston had fun too but he was more into eating the candy. Every peice a got in his bucket he would take out and want to eat right then. So as long as he had candy he was good. It was fun to see them having fun doing this. And now I have a whole bunch of candy to snack on. While we were there we got to see both my sisters and their families as well as my brother and his fiance. My Aunt Cathy and Larry came down from Salt Lake and my Aunt Marianne and Uncle Bud came from Olympia, WA. We don't get to see them much so it was fun to see them. Here are the pictures of my cute monkeys. I hope everyone had a fun day. Now I am just getting excited for Christmas. I can't wait to get out all my Christmas decorations. But I guess I have to wait for Thanksgiving to get over.
Here is Preston wearing some crazy eyeball glasses. Ry got these at a Halloween party and Preston loved wearing them.

Look who's turned the TERRIBLE 2's times 2......

Happy Birthday to Boston and Preston.
They were a little unsure about the flame on the candle. That is why they don't have the cutest faces on.

Today was Boston and Preston's 2nd birthday. I can't believe my babies are 2 years old. Where has the time gone? They are getting so big and so smart. They are saying new words everyday. Preston's latest word is Einsteins and Boston's is Rocket. You can see who has been spending way too much time watching Little Einsteins. Boston also says what I hope is "OH Shoot" when something happens. It doesn't always sound like shoot though. I am sure you can figure out which swear word it does sound like. They are so active too. They really keep me busy.
We had a great day. We started out on Sunday giving them their cake. Boston didn't really like his I guess but Preston sure did enjoy his.

I am not very creative on the cake so it was just a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. It was the worse cake I have ever seen but it still tasted good so I guess that is all that matters. We didn't even take a picture of it it was so bad.
Boston and Preston were lucky enough to have their grandma and grandpa Knudsen here for their b-day. So last night they also opened their present from them. It was a motorcycle toy that looked like the front of a motorcycle with handle bars and all sorts of buttons that made noise. They have had so much fun with them. Here is a picture of it.
Look at all these other presents that they got. What spoiled little boys. But they did love everything they got and were having so much fun playing with it. Some of the other gifts they got were Tonka trucks that pulled things behind them, Some hot wheels, a Thomas the Train ball pit, Blocks, Toy remote control trains and wood puzzles from Grandma and Grandpa Pace and Great Grandma MCIntyre. Cousin Rylee was so nice. When she saw Grandma Pace putting all the gifts in the bags she wanted to give Boston and Preston something. So she went and got a pink princess camera out of her toy box and a card with $2.00 in it and sent it along too. Sad to say with all the money spent on gifts meant for boys they have liked the pink camera the best.
Here are a few more pictures of Boston and Preston on their b-day.

We also took the boys to Pump It Up. They had so much fun. And tomorrow we are having a little party at the park for some of their friends. I think they had a pretty good day and made out with a lot of gifts. Thanks to everyone who called and gave them presents.
I am so thankful for Boston and Preston in my life. They are such sweet little blessings in my life (even when they do drive me crazy). I don't know what I would do without them. I love them so much. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Boston and Preston.

New House

Well it is official. We are so excited. We signed the papers on our new house today so it is ours. We are so happy to get into a bigger house. It is amazing how quickly you grow out of a house. When Gary and I first bought the house we have been in since we got to Vegas I thought we could be here forever. Well add 6 years and 2 kids into the mix and your house fills up pretty quickly. Our new house has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Right now this is a couple rooms too many but I am sure it won't take us long to fill up any extra space there is. But I am hoping that this is the last time we have to move in like the next 20 years. I hate moving. It is just way too much work. I don't know how people can do it every couple of years. So tomorrow is the big day. I am happy and sad. Happy about getting a brand new house but sad to move away from friends. Even though we are still in Las Vegas we are going to be about 20 miles away from where we are now. I am also really going to miss our ward. This is the only ward we have been in since we came. There have been a few changes over the years with splits but basically alot of the same people. I have loved this ward and the people there have been like family. That is a very nice thing about the wards here. You are each others family since not too many people are actually from here it seems. This ward has supported Gary and I through many happy and sad times. I am really hoping that we get into just as good of a ward. Anyway I just wanted to share a few pictures. They don't have the best lighting because it was getting dark and we just have the cheap lights that the builder puts in right now.
Here is the front of the house.

The front entry and stairs.

The formal living room and dining room.

The kitchen.

The family room.

Boston and Preston's room. The one big thing about buying this house was this bedroom. You can't tell in the picture but it is huge. Since B and P will probably be sharing a room for the next few years we needed a good space for them.

The master bedroom.

Part of the master bathroom.

Well I need to get back to work on packing. I can't believe how much I still have to do. We have some movers coming to help and they are going to be here at 7:00 am.
I also wanted to add this picture of my "good" helpers. Every box I get out they have to climb into. I just thought this was a cute one of them together. I turned my back for just a minute and turned around and they were both just sitting in this tub.

Tickle Me Elmo

So I just had to share something cute that Boston did today. My boys have a Tickle Me Elmo. They don't really tickle it too much but Boston loves to carry it around and give it loves (hugs and kisses). Well today Boston was eating a cereal bar and I turned around and he was kneeling down next to Elmo trying to feed the bar to it. He was sticking it in Elmo's mouth and then trying to push it shut so that it would stay in. I just thought it was so cute that he was trying to share with Elmo. Every now and then Boston and Preston will feed each other food so I guess he just thought Elmo would be hungry too.

Little Climbers

So we have been boxing up all of our things getting ready to hopefully move at the end of this month. In the spare room we have the bed leaned up against the wall and I have been sticking the boxes in there. Well the other night we went our for just a minute and came back to find the boys like this. Well actually just Preston did the whole thing by himself. Boston needed a little help with the first box but then he did the rest by himself. Preston is a little monkey, always wanting to climb and hang from things. Boston is a little more scared to do things but always has to follow his brother. And here is a video of Preston in the act. As you will be able to see Boston can't quite get that first box.
Needless to say we have the door shut now and had to put one of those ball things over the handle so that they can't open the door. That would be just what I need to have one of them falling off of there. P.S. Thank you to all who gave me some lunch ideas. It also helped me to see that I am not the only one who gets stuck in a rut on meal ideas. I was feeling like such a bad mom because I couldn't think of something new everyday. I guess that as long as they are eating that is all that matters and there is no sense wasting time on things they won't eat. So thanks for all of your comments.

Help!!!

I need some help thinking of things to make my boys for lunch. My boys were kind of late at eating. Just up until about 2 months ago they were still just eating jarred baby food. I kind of got spoiled with that because I really didn't have to think of things to make them. I am in a major rut, O.K. so I know that everyone gets into ruts with meals,(at least I think I am not the only one) but this one is getting really bad. We do okay with breakfast and then they just eat whatever we have for dinner. Lunch however is hard for me. I have never been a big eater at lunch and usually stick to the same couple of things or I don't have anything. But I know, I know I can't do that to them. They are growing boys and I want to keep it that way. Anyway, I need help. If any of you who take the time to look at my blog see this I am open to suggestions. I am also always up for suggestions for breakfast and dinner if you have any great ideas. I am begging for easy things that don't take alot of ingredients or time. If you have anything you would like to share as far as ideas or even if you know of any good websites to go to or cookbooks that are worth buying please leave me a comment.

Thank you for your help.

UPDATE:
I also just wanted to give a little update as to what we have been up to seeing as I have not posted in about a month. Well seeing as it has been that long you can probably guess what we have been up to... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I don't even have any cute pictures of the boys to share. They are so much fun and I can't believe how old they are getting. They are starting to talk more and more everyday. Still no sentences or anything but it is still fun to have the say a few words. They are getting more wild each day it seems. Sometimes it is enough to drive me insane but I wouldn't trade it for anything. One excited thing on the new front. Gary and I may be buying a new house. We have signed all the papers and now we just have to get all the loan stuff done. We are really excited and keeping our fingers crossed that it all works out. It will be done, hopefully by the end of September. It is in the Northwest in the new Providence community. Pictures are sure to come as soon as we know it is for sure, until then I don't want to post too much and have our hopes up and then have it not work out.

While I was looking for the picture of our cabin I remembered we had these pictures of the boys. When we were on our way home Sunday we stopped in this little town outside of Zion's. This house just had these bulls, elk and buffalo in a field next to their house. You could pay a little money and buy food and feed them. I thought for sure that Boston and Preston would be scarred of them but look at these pictures and how close they got and they didn't even care.
Preston and my dad and cousin Rylee taking a look at the bull.

Boston feeding the bull.

I am glad the bull didn't try to eat Boston.

Me feeding the elk.

Boston chasing a chicken.

I think that this was the funnest part of the whole trip for the boys.
