Happy Halloween!!

We had a really fun Halloween this year. The boys were really into it this year and were so excited to get everything set up. We had to put the Halloween decorations up before September even got over because they would not leave me alone about it. And now they are so sad that the decorations are gone. Preston keeps asking when we are going to put up the Christmas tree and decorations. So who knows we may be one of those families that have Christmas up long before Thanksgiving is even over. I am hoping to hold out as long as possible though.
We started off our Halloween weekend by going Trick-or-Treating at Gary's office. They got so much candy there we really could have been set with just that. Then that night we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Knudsen's. Where of course they were spoiled with candy, pumpkin cookies and pumpkin bread. While we were there we carved some pumpkins. This was the first time we did this with the boys and they really enjoyed it. Two of the pumpkins came from our own garden which was another first for us. However I should note that it was actually Gary and I that did the carving. Boston and Preston picked out what they wanted but then when we started cleaning out the insides they would not even try to touch it. They still were so excited with the results. It has been a long time since I have carved a pumpkin and it was kind of fun seeing the results.
These are the pumpkins that we grew.

Here we are together starting the carving. I look so ugly in this picture but I had to post it because everyone else looked good and it was the only one we got.

This pumpkin I did. I was pretty proud with how it turned out. I think it is the best pumpkin I have ever carved. This was also Boston's pumpkin from the garden and his choice of what face he wanted.

Gary did this ghost one. It was Preston's pumpkin and his choice of what he wanted carved on it.

Then Gary did this Woody one. He wanted to do a Woody and Buzz Lightyear for B & P since that is what there costumes were but they ended up not wanting to do that and picked the others. So Gary bought another pumpkin and did Woody. We were going to do Buzz too but just did not end up having enough time. I thought this was pretty good.

The next day we headed down to Grandma and Grandpa Pace's for their Halloween Party. Again Boston and Preston were so excited for this. About two weeks before Halloween I got tired of them asking if today was Halloween so we started marking off the days on a calendar so they could count. They were so excited when the last day was checked off. Grandma had a fun treasure hunt for them and a pumpkin pinata. Then we went trick-or-treating around Leamington. Between the candy they got from Gary's office, the pinata, the treasure hunt, Grandma Knudsen and trick-or-treating we are over flowing with candy. I have a feeling we won't be able to finish it all.
Everyone was at my mom and dad's except Kara and her family. They had come down but then Tanna got the stomach flu so they left before everyone got there. We sure missed you guys but do appreciate you for not getting the rest of us sick.
Here are a few pictures from the night.

Buzz Lightyear aka Boston

And the beautiful Snow White aka Taylor

Here the kids are getting ready to do the pinata.

Gary and I. He was a tooth and I was the tooth fairy.

Erin and Jon the hillbillies.

Captain Jack Sparrow with Woody and Buzz.

Marcus as Captain Jack Sparrow and Maria as a hillbilly

Mom and Dad in their costumes. My mom had on a poodle skirt which I didn't capture too good but it was so cute. And my dad was her "nerdy boyfriend".

And here is Preston with the Witch Grandma Mc.
