New Posts
Well I just did a bunch of posts with all we have done this summer. It goes all the way to Gone Fishin' if you are interested in looking.
Kindergarten
Well my "babies" are just getting too big on me. On Tuesday, August 28th they started Kindergarten. They did so good. We did not have any screaming or crying about going in. They both looked a little nervous as they were waiting for the bell to ring and the teacher to open the door. But when I picked them up at the end of the day they both said they loved it. Right now they have Mrs. Jensen. It could change though because right now they have 41 kids in their class so they are working on opening up another class. So not sure how they will pick who goes to that class but she is their teacher right now. They looked so handsome on their first day.
End of Summer Vacation
Well Gary has been pretty busy at work this summer so we had not been able to really get away. So we planned a little end of the summer get away. We did part of it this last weekend and then we are going to do one more thing on Monday.
So on Saturday we headed up to Park City. First we did a little school shopping at the outlet mall and then we headed up to our hotel. A friend of ours got us an awesome deal at the amazing resort he works at. We were able to stay at the Stein Eriksen lodge. It was so nice. I think the boys thought they had died and gone to heaven staying at the hotel. We got to go swimming and enjoy the hotel.
My boys finally decided they loved the water. Here they are actually swimming under the water.
Enjoying the hot tub.
They also had to give the big jetted bath tub a try before we left.
We also went and rode the Alpine Slides. We had so much fun.
Lemonade Stand
A couple weeks ago we had a garage sale and Boston and Preston had a lemonade stand. They had been wanting to do this for so long, but we don't live on a very busy street so I knew they wouldn't get much business. So we had been planning a garage sale and told them they could do it then. Well the week leading up to it they were so excited. And it was the perfect idea to do it at the garage sale because they got so much business. I couldn't believe when we added up their total. They had made about $45. It was crazy. They had so much fun and enjoyed spending their earnings.
Sam
This is my nephew Sam. I don't know if I have mentioned before but he is my best little buddy. We got to watch him for about four days in August and we truly enjoyed it. My sister Kara says when she tells him they are coming to Kelly's house that he gets all excited and then he cries whenever they have to leave. It is so fun for me to have a little one that is so attached. But also kind of nice that I get to send him off with his mom when the end of the day comes. But man do I love this little cutie and I sure do miss him since they have moved a little further south and we don't get to see them as often.
Swimming Lesson
At the end of July we finally did some swimming lessons. I have said this before but my boys have not been big fans of the water. But they have gotten more comfortable and it is not a fight to get them in so I decided it was time. They had fun but I don't think they learned much. I was a little disappointed at the end of the two weeks because they weren't much further than what I thought. They still wouldn't even put their face in the water. But they went and I was proud.
By the end though they both did go down the big three story slide by themselves. They just needed someone to catch them at the bottom.
4th of July Fun
This year for the 4th of July we didn't really have many plans. Then my sister Kara invited us to come with her family and her in-laws to Bear Lake. So we headed over the night before and camped in Lance's aunts yard. Then on the 4th we went to Bear Lake. We also hit the parade in Paris, ID I believe (I could be wrong but it was one of the small towns in ID.) We had lots of fun hanging out on the beach at Bear Lake. The water is such a beautiful blue color. You almost feel like you are at the beach in Hawaii. Thanks Andersen family for letting us tag along. Later that night we went and watched the fireworks from the HS football field. I think all my boys fell asleep. But I got them to wake up in time for the finale. I didn't get any pictures there though.
Girl's Day
While the boys were gone fishing I got to have a girls day with my niece Sage and my mother-in-law. Here is cutie Sage.
We had so much fun. We went shopping at Old Navy, then on to Shopko for supplies for manicures and pedicures. We then went home and did our pedicures. We did a foot soak and painted our finger nails and toe nails. It was fun hanging out with a little girl. She asked me one day why I liked to do her hair. I told her I don't get to do girl hair very often so it is fun for me. I think she enjoyed it too. Thanks Sagie for the fun day.
Gone Fishin'
Back in June, Tyler, Connor and Sage were at Grandma and Grandpa Knudsen's so we had to go down for a visit. Grandpa wanted to take the boys fishing, so they headed off along with Uncle Paul and Gary for a fishing day. I think all the boys had a lot of fun.
