Blogiversary!

I was just looking back through some of my old posts and realized that I have just past my one year Blogiversary. On December 14, 2007 I started this blog. When I started it I really didn't think that I would do that well at it. In fact after my original post it took me over 2 months to post again. But now 44 posts later, I think I have done pretty good and have really enjoyed doing it. I don't know how many people actually look at it and like to see what I have to say but I think it is a fun way to keep track of what my family is doing. I am not very good at writing in my journal but I think this makes up for it and is a good way at doing it. Thanks to all those who do look and leave comments. Also thanks to all of you who update your own blogs. I love looking at them and try to leave comments whenever I can.

Happy New Year's

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Gary and I didn't really do anything to celebrate. In fact I fell asleep just before midnight and Gary had to wake me up. We have a pretty good view of the strip so we wanted to see if we would be able to see the fireworks. Well this year they made it so the casinos could not set the fireworks off of their roof tops do to the fire on the Monte Carlo awhile back. So they had to shoot them off the parking garages. Well we could see them ok but not great so I just went back to bed. Pretty boring I know. Anyway I hope that everyone has a wonderful New Year and that all your wishes come true and your prayers are answered. If you are interested I posted a few things today that are below from the end of our year. Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas!!!!

So I know this is late. What is new. Anyway we had a really good Christmas this year. We headed to my parents house for Christmas. Boston and Preston were having so much fun this year. They learned who Santa was and loved watching movies or reading books about him. But even though they loved the idea of Santa I thought for sure that neither of them would go anywhere near Santa. Every time we would look at blogs and people had their kids on Santa's lap I would ask if they would sit on Santa's lap and just about every time they would say no. Every year Santa comes around to all the houses in my parents town. Someone had seen Santa down the street so me, Boston and Preston and Rylee (their cousin) were watching for Santa out the front window. He pulled in across the street and was waving. Well that set Preston off. He went crazy, crying and shaking and trying to get into the other room. Boston seemed okay though. So in comes Santa. Preston of course was nowhere to be found and Rylee had gone off hiding also. So we asked Boston if he wanted to sit on Santa's lap and to my surprise he walked right up and got on. He was mesmerized by him. He just kept looking at him and patting his beard and then when Santa was leaving he gave him a big hug. It was so cute. I thought for sure he would be crying, especially after seeing Prestons reaction but he didn't. Here is a picture of Boston on Santa's lap.

Here is the only picture of Preston with Santa. Then he was missing in action. You can't really tell but he is holding on for dear life.

Here are a few other pictures from our Christmas. I was so mad though. Our camera ran out of batteries and I couldn't get anymore so we have no pictures from Christmas morning. Preston and Rylee.

We had a great Christmas. Boston and Preston got a new truck, some cars, some clothes, a few movies, and a couple guitars from Santa and mom and dad. They got some really cool motorcycles from grandma and grandpa. Thanks for the good Christmas mom and dad. We had a great week. It was so fun to just relax and spend time with our family. We missed having my sister Kara and her family but hope we can see them soon. I also want to say I am so thankful for the real meaning of Christmas. I am so thankful for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so aware of all the blessings that I have in my life and know that they are all made possible by the Savior and our Heavenly Father. I am so thankful to have the gospel in my life.
Before we left for Utah we let the boys open their presents from Grandma and Grandpa Knudsen. They got a Little People School Bus and Airplane, and two new books. They loved their new toys and books. Boston takes one of the books to bed everynight. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa.
Preston loving his new book.

Enjoying their new toys.
I just wanted to share a picture of our Christmas tree. We got a new one this year. It was prelit. I was so excited not to have to put strands of lights on the Christmas tree. It was a little difficult to decorate as it was 12 feet tall and we only had a 6 foot ladder. But somehow I got it done. The boys loved the Christmas tree this year. As you can see from the bottom of the tree they loved it too much. I finally had to take all the ornaments off the bottom 3 or 4 feet as everytime I would go into the room there would be about 20 ornaments on the floor being kicked or thrown around. I finally got sick of putting them back on that I just left them off.

The boys loved to turn the lights on. Every morning they would come down and go straight to turning them on. And everyday they would ask for me to take a picture of them in front of the tree. So I have alot of pictures of them standing in front of the tree.
These pictures are a little old. They should have gone with my last post when it snowed but I have been slacking on my blogging and have not felt like posting. So I guess better late than never.
This is a one of the snowmen that Gary built for the boys. They were so excited and kept running to the window to look at it.

This is the day after we got the big snow storm. I took the boys over to the promenade to play.
Preston stomping the snow with his shoes. He thought it was so fun to march in the snow.

Boston enjoying the snow.

They still wanted to go down the slide. I tried to tell them it was too icy but they did not listen. It was actually kind of funny. Boston went first and hit a little patch of snow at the bottom of the slide and went flying off into the snow piled at the bottom. He was not happy. So he was sitting there crying at the bottom. Me being the nice mom that I am, instead of helping Preston just go back down I made him go down the slide too. So he hit the same spot of ice and flew off into Boston who is still sitting at the bottom crying. I was wishing I would have had a video camera to catch it.

This was a couple days later when it snowed again. Boston and Preston were so excited. They pulled these chairs over and just stood their watching the snow fall for at least an hour or so.

So happy it is snowing.

Every couple days now Preston will go to the window to look out and say "Snowing". He just wants it to snow again so bad. I think I have had enough snow for this winter.
